Life as an unemployed woman living with her parents isn't quite the exciting adventure it sounds like when you read that..... Although it has been great being with my mom, she's my favorite. :)
The highlight for June is that I got to go visit my brother for his 21st. That was a fun time! I also got to see my friend Laura B. and best of all (sorry Zac and Laura) I got to see my baby girl Rexy (my brothers dog). I've missed her most, it's sad not having someone get happy to see you EVERY DAY and curl up next to you and give you kisses. I've come to the conclusion everyone needs to have a dog because it's the closest thing to God's love. They're loving ALL THE TIME, don't hold grudges and did I mention how they're always happy to see you?
In about a week Zac will come to visit again, possibly with his gf Alexis.... and best of all, my sister Joni graduates with her Masters from Azusa Pacific University at the end of this month. Woo hoo! She's worked so hard and she is going to be the BEST marriage and family therapist in California. I can't wait to visit Southern California and get to see her and a lot of the Johnson clan.
My 30th is approaching (just one short month from now. eeps!) My hope is to have a day filled with my favorite things. I'm thinking serbian pancakes (crepes) with nutella, strawberries and whip cream, followed by a day filled with favorite songs, mini-golf, old-town sacramento and time spent with relatives I haven't seen since Christmas.
I've started to look into Grad School, something I didn't really want to do until I realized that though I'm confident in my abilities as a writer I know I could learn a lot of useful information. Also, I'm hoping to move to Whittier California (L.A County... umm I think!) in the beginning of September to live with my BFF Laura M. What can we say? We need each other! And my soul longs for Southern California. Especially knowing I could be living in Alabama, Kansas, or New Mexico depending on where I get accepted to grad school.
But as I've learned, it matters little what I plan, God ultimately decides and I'm working on being okay with that and just pursuing Him.
I'm thinking about giving up meat soon. I read protein is a no go for kidney stone people and unfortunately I am one of those people. I'm also wanting to eat more fruits and veggies but when you're on unemployment that only pays for your car and none of the other 6 bills you have... beggars can't be choosers.
hope all is well with you! xo- Lexi
