I moved to Salinas, as you know, in January to nanny for a friends kids. I met her husband who, a few weeks after I started working switched location sites for his construction job. A few weeks after that he told me of job openings at the place where he was renovating. Skeptical I checked it out and made sure to apply. AFter 3 interviews I got the job!
I am now an executive assistant to an artist. I just finished my first week and though it will take some time getting used to getting up at 6:30 am and going to sleep at 8:30 p.m., I think this will be a good job. It will be hard and scary at times I know, it's a sometimes intense job where I have to multitask and be on top of things. But I'm trusting that God will help me and I will learn many things while working in this position.
I went to Hawaii for 2 weeks in April and it was FABULOUS! I was blessed with great weather and precious time with my parents. My friend Laura came out for 5 days and it was nice to sight see with her.
My time in Salinas is only getting better (go figure!). Now that I have a good income I can afford gas to go to the church I want to go to and will soon join a Bible Study. It's great to be at a Church where I'm learning again. God has always led me to great places of worship where the teaching is Biblically sound and affects my faith in huge ways. Cypress seems to be another Church to add to my list of amazing places of worship!
Spending time with my brother has been great and I will be very sorry to see him move to Sacramento but I'm excited for this phase of his life. It's also wonderful to have friends here and other family members as well. I never would have thought I'd be back in this area but it's proven to be a source of recuperation after an emotionally rough year.
My dependance on the Lord is growing which is good since my coping skills with the curve balls of life aren't where I'd like them to be. It is nice to know that whatever happens this year I can say I am moving in the right direction with trusting the Lord to take care of me. I'm excited for health benefits to kick in should the job be a "GO" after my 90 day trial period and hope to soon start eating healthier and not off of cheap tasteless walmart food LOL!
I hope you are well and that you are seeing the ways God is trying to move in your life!
